Rotator Cuff Tears

Personalized shoulder rehabilitation in Seymour, IN

Shoulder pain and weakness can make reaching overhead, lifting everyday items, and returning to the activities you enjoy feel difficult. Progressive Physical Therapy provides one-on-one care and a customized plan to help you rebuild movement, strength, and confidence.

A thoughtful path forward for shoulder recovery

A rotator cuff tear can affect daily life in surprisingly big ways—from reaching into a cabinet to lifting, working, or participating in recreation. Our experienced team begins by listening to your story, evaluating your movement and goals, and creating a plan tailored to your needs.

Whether you are managing a shoulder injury, preparing for surgery, or continuing recovery after a repair, every visit is guided by dedicated professionals focused on helping you regain strength, mobility, and confidence.

Your personalized rehabilitation plan

No two injuries—or recoveries—are exactly alike. Our care is built around your condition, current abilities, and the activities that matter most to you.

1. Tell Us Your Story

We take time to understand your symptoms, shoulder limitations, concerns, medical history, and goals. Your evaluation helps us design care around your unique recovery journey.

2. Restore Comfortable Movement

Guided care may include hands-on techniques and individualized movement activities to improve mobility and flexibility while respecting your current tolerance.

3. Build Strength for Life

As you progress, targeted exercise and functional training help rebuild shoulder strength and prepare you for the movements needed at home, work, and play.

Care that progresses with you

Progressive Physical Therapy’s comprehensive programs begin with pain management, introduce corrective exercise to build and restore strength, then progress toward functional training and injury prevention. Your therapist will educate you about your body, your plan, and the tools that can support lasting shoulder health.

Manual Therapy

Targeted hands-on care may be used to address painful musculoskeletal injuries, movement restrictions, and postural dysfunction affecting your shoulder.

Therapeutic Exercise

Individualized exercise helps support progressive strengthening, mobility, and a safe return to the functional movements that matter to you.

Pre- & Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

Following shoulder surgery, a structured rehabilitation plan can help you work toward restored mobility, strength, and everyday function at an appropriate pace.

A patient’s shoulder recovery story

“I first started going to Progressive PT in the spring of 2023 due to pain in my right upper arm and shoulder. Found out after an MRI that I had a rotator cuff tear. After surgery I returned to them to continue my recovery. I can’t say enough about the experience I had working with both Oakley and Taylor. They both are very personal and really care about how a person feels. Thanks to them, I feel I’m on my way to a full recovery. I would highly recommend Progressive PT to my family and friends.”

What to expect at physical therapy

Your sessions typically include an assessment of your condition, individualized exercises and activities to help you reach your goals, education on preventing further injury or pain, and guidance on posture, body mechanics, and lifestyle changes. Sessions generally last 30–60 minutes, depending on your condition and the techniques used.

Your therapist may also provide specific home exercise recommendations between visits to support your progress. If you have questions or experience increased pain during a session, let your therapist know so your treatment can be adjusted appropriately.

You do not have to navigate a rotator cuff tear alone. Our Seymour team is ready to listen, evaluate your needs, and help you build a plan toward moving with greater comfort and confidence.
