Core Strengthening

Build a stronger foundation for movement, recovery, and the activities you love.

At Progressive Physical Therapy, your plan is tailored to your goals, challenges, and current level of strength—whether you are managing back pain, preparing for surgery, or returning to an active lifestyle.

A Personalized Path to Better Strength

Core strengthening is an important part of Progressive Physical Therapy’s comprehensive programs. After addressing immediate discomfort, our therapists introduce corrective exercise to build and restore strength, then progress to functional training that prepares you for real-life movement and challenges.

There is no one-size-fits-all exercise plan. Our team takes time to evaluate your condition and create a treatment plan around your specific goals. Your visits include guidance and education so you understand how your plan works and how to continue supporting your health outside the clinic.

For patients with weak hips and core who want to improve back pain or prepare for knee surgery, progressive strengthening can be an important part of feeling more capable in everyday activities.

How We Progress Your Program

Our comprehensive approach supports you through recovery and beyond, with exercise and training adjusted as you progress.

1. Listen & Evaluate

We start by listening to your story, concerns, and goals. Your therapist evaluates your condition and identifies a starting point that fits your needs.

2. Build Strength

Corrective exercises and progressive loading are used to help restore strength. Early exercise may include gentle muscle re-education before progressing to active and resistive movement.

3. Return to Movement

As you advance, your program can incorporate flexibility, balance, endurance, and goal-specific functional activities to help you move with greater confidence.
